I'm A Banker - Get Me Out of Here!

Fund raising event for Little Haven Childrens Hospice - Saturday 26th February 2005

 

This event was organised by Deutsche Bank in aid of this very worthy cause.  It was the culmination of their fund raising activities which raised a huge amount of money for the hospice.  Volunteers spent the weekend doing groundwork at the hospice and the Saturday night was spent in a marquee in the middle of a field!  Entertainment was provided to rally the troops, including a performance by Karen and myself.  It was freezing cold - in fact it it was snowing - and our feet were like blocks of ice!  But it was all for a good cause, and judging by the lovely note sent to me after the event, the performance was well appreciated!

Thank you so much for coming and entertaining the troops with your fabulous dancing on Saturday 26th!

The whole fundraising effort raised a total of £56,500! This exceeded expectations and made the effort even more rewarding. The "I'm a Banker, get me out of here" night was the culmination of the fundraising effort. It was a very surreal night, and the effect of you and your fellow dancer appearing in the middle of the tent in such beautiful costumes and dancing so impressively - including the sword - was spectacular. It seemed so appropriate for you to be dancing in the tent - just not in sub-zero conditions, with everyone else dressed up like arctic explorers!

Once again, many thanks for generously donating your time and lifting the spirits of all concerned.
